The
Ocean and Climate Change Institute (WHOI) The goal of the Ocean and Climate
Change Institute is to evaluate and understand the role of the oceans in
climate change with the objective of improving long-term climate forecasts.
In order to achieve this goal, the OCCI is sponsoring observational, theoretical
and modeling studies on ocean-climate interactions, the development of new
technology for monitoring and observing the oceans and atmosphere, and convening
interdisciplinary workshops and symposia to identify the key research issues
for improving climate forecasts.
