Catalog Data: OCE-2002 Introduction to Computer Applications in Ocean Science and Engineering (Credit 3). An introduction to state-of-the-art technologies, tools and methods used in ocean engineering and the marine sciences. Topics include computer tools for planning, developing and designing. Modern and classical methods of design, statistical analysis and evaluation are introduced along with associated computer tools. Student teams develop and present design projects using these tools.

Course objectives: To introduce the student to design and analysis techniques using the latest state-of-the-art tools for developing an engineering design. The student will then apply these concepts and to a real industrial science or engineering design problem.
