IV. Chiroptical Sensors in Aqueous Media

       The figure below displays an general example of earlier work* which displayed remarkable chiral discrimination of chiral secondary alcohols and amines at the microgram scale.  Further development will involve the study of chiral products generated by the oxidation of monoolefins (e.g. oleic acid) under the action of soybean lipoxyenase (in collaboration with Dr. Novak) by direct assay in aqueous media using a modified version of the one presented below.
