Green Campus Group

In March, 2005, a group of students headed by H. Robinson started an approved campus group to advocate sustainable or "green" actions to improve campus sustainability. They are working on presenting a "Solar Music Fair" on Earth Day, Friday, 4/22/05.

Link PV Power

One Spring 2003 Renewable Energy class team project was to evaluate the Link Building for a photovoltaic power system that would offset energy purchases. They will applied for and received a grant from the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC). Unfortunately, the additional installation funds could not be raised in time to meet the completion deadlines.

Subsequently, Dr. Sharaf-Eldeen of the Mechanical Dept. located additional funding and contracted for a  4.8 kW installation on the south-sloping roof of the Olin Engineering Building. This system is grid-intertied and reduces the incoming power to the building.
