Here are some miscellaneous photos showing the Botanical Gardens pool area where the waterwheel is located. Changes have been made since these views were taken.
Upstream Pool

The waterwheel is seen at the top center. A new structure is now installed. Recent rains have muddied the water of the 3-foot deep pool.
Spillway

The spillway carries significant flow when a rainstorm has passed over the residential area to the west of Country Club Road. (Shown prior to wheel installation.)

Looking west, we see strong flow after a heavy rain. so much water comes downstream that the pool overflows some 8 inches above the spillway level.

Wheel Support Area

View looking down from west end of the spillway (above). The spillway water presently falls more towards the east end. Originally, two pressure-treated 2x4s and a 2x2 driven 4.5 ft into the stream bottom. These formed the anchoring system, and additional braces are used to secure the wheel against flood storms. The wheel rotates back three inches from the wall to allow most trash to pass through. A trash diverter has been added to deflect floating debris to the east of the wheel.

Tailrace Area

The tailrace area leads away from the wheel with a slight turn to the southwest. This area is heavily covered with vegetation in 2009.
